Mixed Vegetable Vada

MIXED VEGETABLE VADA


Ingredients

1.Tuvara parippu(  Toor dal) : 1/2 cup

2. Salt : required quantity

3. Water : 3 tablespoon

4. Kayam powder (asafoetida): 3 pinch

5. Ginger : 1 small piece

6. Green chilly : 2 now.

7. Carrot : 1 no.

8. Cabbage ( cutted into small pieces)

9. Small onion : 8 nos.

10. Coriander leaves : few

11. Curry leaves : few

12. Any vegetable oil : for frying


Preparation

Wash the dal thoroughly and soak it for 4-5 hours.

Drain the water completely from the dal with a colander. If any water is remaining the vada will break apart. You can use an absorbent paper for this.

In a mixer, grind the dal into a paste. Do not make it into a fine paste. . Then grate carrot, cabbage, small onion and one green chilly into very small pieces, add with the grinded paste and mix it well. Add curry leaves and coriander leaves. 

Roll out small portions of the mixture into lime sized ball and flatten it between the palms to give it shape.

In a deep bottom frying pan pour the oil and heat it. Add the vadas to the oils when it become hot in medium flame. Deep fry the mixed vegetable vadas until they become golden brown.

Serve to children with chutney.
